Strength versus conditioning: what should you train today?

Understand the purpose of each session and make better choices across your week.

Strength and conditioning are not competitors; they are tools for different jobs. Knowing which one a session is meant to develop stops you from turning every workout into an exhausting free-for-all.

Strength work is about producing force: heavier loads, lower reps, longer rest. Progress is measured in what you can lift and control, not in how sweaty you finish.

Conditioning develops your engine: sustaining effort, recovering between bouts, and staying composed when your heart rate climbs. Here density and heart rate matter more than absolute load.

A balanced week usually contains both, separated enough that neither undermines the other. Use DB Strength for the former and Bodyweight Burn or Express for the latter.

If you are unsure on any given day, ask what you want to feel like tomorrow. Strong and fresh, or conditioned and worked. Then pick the session that gets you there.
